@Tilopa the iliac artery runs thru there. I was awake for a vascular surgery once and after they pulled out the entry point into the artery they didn't close it in time and I had two bursts of blood hit the ceiling. So yes, you'd die out quick if that got cut.

@CBells I've heard it said that the wrist is a pretty piss-poor way to go, because it's so slow. Cutting the throat curiously leads to choking, the mechanism of that I don't understand, but presumably you'd bleed out pretty quick if you hit the jug. But that big Iliac artery in the groin is a tempting target, don't you think? Better than the wrist.

@CBells I guess if one's got the stones, one doesn't have to do anything, except wait for Time, and Nature to take it's course.. but that said, if I'm terminally ill, feeling like crap all the time, and facing a nasty end, it will be tempting to end it on my terms.
