       Just watched old mate from CEE down the coast using welding gas that’s 10% oxygen on YouTube. Why does he want that? I thought the whole point of welding gas was to displace oxygen? What have I missed?

       @Sophistifunk doesn't make much sense to me, but then we used to use 5% hydrogen in our inert gas brazing gas. Seems pretty dumb to me

       @Sabex it all depends upon the weld profile, material composition.  General welding gas for your mig/mag welder will argon co2 mix, now if your weding duplex stainless steels you will add a little bit of oxygen to allow deeper penetration through the hard as fuck steel. TIG weldi g just loves the pure argon, but different metal transfer method. It ain't all the same jack.

       @Sabex it's a big field of knowledge, still learning after 25 years. Mostly forgotten things that we used to know
