@mistyIt sounds like a hallucination now, but I was pretty sure I had to install curl on Ventura on the new M1 MacBook I just got.

@ygalanter AFAIK /usr/bin/curl is load-bearing for Apple themselves - it's used in some first-party stuff. Maybe you needed a newer version? The Apple one is a version from October; it's usually 6-9 months behind whatever brew is shipping

@misty The minimal install of Debian stable actually comes with neither.I know this because I'm ironically unable to retrieve my APT proxy configuration from my local network and create the conf file manually to then be able to install curl and/or wget from my local caching server
