I need to buy some LiPo batteries for a project but I'm not sure how to work out whether the vendor is safe enough to buy from. After seeing the horror stories of exploded LiPos I'm being extra careful.People keep telling me "AliExpress", "eBay" and "Amazon" but these are really just massive marketplaces with various sellers of various levels of suspicion and goodness knows what I'll be getting.Specs are 1000-1800 mAh capacity and 3.7v for nominal voltage with a Micro JST 1.25mm connector. Shape would be a 803443 LiPo.Sadly these batteries aren't on known #electronics hobbyist shops like Adafruit and Sparkfun, so that's not an option.Any ideas? :blobcatthink:

@jonhendry slightly bigger, but I could make it work :thonking: Mouser is also a massive catalog of sources, I wasn't sure how to tell which vendors are 'safe' when it comes to LiPo.

@Polychrome If you don't mind soldering the connector yourself (or asking them to do it, worth a try) I can vouch for these folks: https://www.aliexpress.us/item/2251832827819058.html I have some of their cells that are 5 years old and still going strong.

@Polychrome Mouser has a lot of inventory but I don't think they're one of the "send us your crap and we'll list it" places.I think Digikey, maybe, makes a distinction between their own inventory and "Market" vendor listings of god knows what.
