@cliffwade I have tried to get away from Android and iOS for years now. I would love to use my Piephone CE with PostmarketOS as my daily driver but not quite there yet. What Ubuntu Touch lacks in app support it makes up for in polish.

@PublicLewdness I've heard a lot of good things about PostMarketOS from lots of folks. I've never used it. I guess because I'm pretty invested in the Google ecosystem with regards to the fact that I do work for @novalauncher I'd love to get myself a device that I can use with GPS and all of that Google stuff.

@cliffwade I never really wanted to be part of an ecosystem so for me the switches were always easy as I was already using alternatives. Only thing that I miss is Google Maps and my wife has an iPhone so when driving she handles mapping for us which softens the blow.

@CliffWade Thanks! The wallpaper is downloadable from the website of a 3D artist who names their newsletter subscribers “employees” to create a certain vibe. I find their videos to be quite calming and inspiring as their room setup and form of content is thought provoking. They can be found via “2ynthetic” on YouTube and Instagram I think.

@cliffwade Recently moved into a Pixel 6 Pro running #grapheneos. I've got Play Services in a different user profile that I use right now for traveling until I trust Waze/Organic over Google Maps and wean myself off of YT Music.I keep multiple browsers to keep the different trackers separated (one for Meta, one for Google, etc).

@CliffWade @novalauncher So we probably mailed a few weeks ago ...To be honest, I tried different alternatives on GrapheneOS without Google Play Store/Service requirements first, but nothing came close to nova launcher for me after 10 years of use. Tried the free version for a while, but was missing the gestures. Found out about the direct license key in the app and read on reddit that you are really nice :)

@pawelkuzia Nova 8 has made a few changes, but unfortunately that's not up to the launcher to change, as Google simply doesn't allow it. Google themselves have made some good changes in Android 13, and hopefully they make some more in Android 14. I wish it were up to Nova to completely change/fix, but it's just not.
