In this case:82 Twitter accounts pushed this226 separate posts were createdThis reached an audience of 400,000 impressions or social views.Again: proof of concept is SUCCESSFUL in my book. @janetate That sounds nice as an internal event! We should avoid creating “mastodon fatigue” when advertising outside of here though, so something that’s not too frequent might be better if it is aimed at twitter users?@wigbert @tchambers @alexwild @spreadmastodon @noellemitchell

@noellemitchell @elduvelle @tchambers @janetate @wigbert @alexwild @spreadmastodonovercoming the network effect (only!?!) requires giving everyone an alternative way to replicate their experience somewhere else. if it wasn't for the other people, I don't think anyone would be there. we need a site that explains why it's better here, helps them join and find their friends, and then targets a period of time (probably a week) for everyone to try only using the #fedi instead of Twitter. IMHO.

@noellemitchell @tchambers @elduvelle @janetate @wigbert @alexwild @spreadmastodonjoinmastodon.org already does a great job explaining the fediverse generally and why it's better here. what we are not doing is making a coordinated effort to overcome the network effect. that's what a site targeted towards preparing for and taking a worldwide weeklong #fedi vacation/holiday could do. maybe theme it like a travel website.
