       I have been on my fair share of project post mortems in my career, looking back at projects to understand why dates were missedThey are always good examinations of processes and technologies used, and how they could be improved to make things go smoother in the future. These are all good things and often helpBut these post mortems always carefully tiptoe around the real reason the date was missed: Someone pulled a date out of their ass that wasn't possible to meet in the first place
