For anyone here who subscribes to a writer or journalist's newsletter: Which ones do you like and why do you like them?#AmWriting #AmReading #journalism #newsletter #SocialMediaIsASoulSuckingMessButIStillWantToTalkAboutCoolStuff

@ianrosewrites this is a good question, but I don’t really have a good answer. I pay money for David Roberts’s clean energy newsletter but I find I rarely take the time to read it. I don’t know why! Feels like “a lot” to undertake somehow. I like Edith zimmerman’s comics Substack but I don’t pay for it yet, and I look only sporadically. What about you?

@elizamccarthy Not much really. I subscribe to HEATED and read it most of the time, but at this point, that's more of a news outlet than a newsletter, because there's a whole team. I think the last individual writer one I subscribed to was Chuck Wendig's, but that was a while back and really just a WordPress feed from his blog. I need to find some good ones to try, especially in the journalism space.

@ianrosewrites do you mean science journalism, or something broader (or narrower)? i thought I’d like “the Microdose” about psychedelics research :) from UC-Berkeley but once again I fail at reading it. Good luck finding some good ones

@elizamccarthy Thanks. I'm looking for broader I think. The issue I'm having is that every time I publish something these days, I have people I send it to individually and it's awkward and time-consuming, and I've had a few nice people ask if they could sign up to follow me by email. Mostly I just want to see who is doing it well, in science, broader journalism or even fiction, because if I do it, I want it to be something worthwhile to read.
