       Among the things our instructor told us today:-the Internet really took off in the mid-90s because the OSI model made it possible for computers made by different manufacturers to send data back and forth. Before that, they could only send ASCII files, which are 1s and 0s.-The private IP ranges (e.g. 192.168.x.x) are for special uses. You can rent them for a certain period but then you have to give them back.I sat in front.This was a mistake.#cybersecurity

       @venya Once upon a time, I had an "instructor" a bit like yours, who said NTFS and NFS were the same thing. One was for Windows and the other for Linux, you see.And that both used PPP.I was able, with the rest of the students, to get him replaced. Still one of my proudest moment.
