@itnewsbot Jesus. Some ppl shouldn’t be allowed to journalism. It is a decision by the California Court of Appeal, an intermediate-level California appellate court. It is under California state law, arising from a 2021 ballot initiative, Prop 22. The only thing “US” about this is that the Court is located in the USA. It is NOT a “US Court.” In other words, this headline is misleadingly sensationalized. Oh, and most thinking lawyers saw this coming the day it passed. It will now go to the California Supreme Court where it will get mangled and watered down to the point where ppl won’t understand what if any parts of it remain, and then likely forget about it. Are there ANY journalists who understand basic legal principles and court structures?
