That happens frequently. When someone posts a thoughtful reply to something, and I’d like to see what the conversation is.

@Teri_Kanefield Hmm… not sure what to do with this. It lacks the characteristic MSM dog whistle for all things trump.The essential statement that “this should worry trump.” Or “trump’s having a bad week.” Without one of those I just can’t be bothered.

@KimPerales Why would they? There’s no legal benefit that could come of it. It’s a civil action. There’s no “contrition discount” for compensatory defamation damages.

@itnewsbot Jesus. Some ppl shouldn’t be allowed to journalism.It is a decision by the California Court of Appeal, an intermediate-level California appellate court. It is under California state law, arising from a 2021 ballot initiative, Prop 22. The only thing “US” about this is that the Court is located in the USA. It is NOT a “US Court.” In other words, this headline is misleadingly sensationalized. Oh, and most thinking lawyers saw this coming the day it passed. It will now go to the California Supreme Court where it will get mangled and watered down to the point where ppl won’t understand what if any parts of it remain, and then likely forget about it. Are there ANY journalists who understand basic legal principles and court structures?

@flockofnazguls Could be arrogance. Big names have big egos, and most will take attention wherever they can find it it seems. I’ve wondered the same thing, but decided to stop wondering because I really didn’t care. But the other part of it was “don’t these ppl have better things to do?” Robert Reich has been mentioned. Really? Is he bored? If that’s what retirement looks like, no thanks. For the most part, I stopped following those accounts back before I deleted my Twitter account, precisely for the reasons you suggest. A lot of them are attention hounds—cuz for most that’s how they got to where they are in the first place. There’s also a ton of “echo chamber” posting. I don’t need Rob Reiner to tell me that trump and desantis are evil assholes. I’m quite capable of figuring that out myself. If someone has a great sense of humor, or posts insightful things, I will follow. Andy Borowitz for example. But I figure most will get boosted anyhow.

@stopgopfox They’re just trying to depopulate to keep their consumption of the social safety net in line with their ability to contribute. Kind a stupid way to come to terms with their inability to carry their own weight, but help comes from strange places sometimes.
