One thing I noticed that made me a little sad was..After installing a fresh #Windows 11 by default the #TikTok app was installed š I really disliked the fact it came with Messenger but TikTok is another levelMakes me wonder how much #Microsoft got paid from ByteDance :thinking_rotate:

@stux @calculsoberic That's not Microsoft. That's OEM bloatware. The OEMs get paid for doing it in their shipped images, not Microsoft. Microsoft just gets the blame. There is NO WAY Microsoft would include TikTok.

@stux After going through the mess of Win8 and Win10 I've yet to read a solid reason to upgrade to Win11 other than a TPM requirement, and even that's not well explained.I use only two OS specific apps. I use ChromeOS and web "apps" most of my day. I do a lot with my Android phone. What makes Win11 special?

@stux Iām not sure if itās changed, but theyāre technically not installed. Any third-party app that shows up āpre-installedā on Windows 10/11 is actually a placeholder until you open it the first time. Once you try to open it, then it will actually install. I havenāt dealt with a non-Enterprise/Education SKU of Windows in a while, but thatās how they used to work.Not defending them doing it, but, if theyāre still doing it how I remember them doing it, itās not as bad as it could have been. Still sucks itās even a thing.

@stux I think its actually only an ad, but I am not sure. Last time I installed W11 I had that too and Instagram and Prime Video and so on, but they werenāt installed if I remember correctly. In the Start Menu you click uninstall and it goes away but if you try to open it it has to install first. I donāt know if that makes it better or worse tough
