       You know what, I'm not sure that the whole "have to choose a server" deal is the real issue stopping people from migrating to #Mastodon. I think it's lack of features and function. Lack of search ability. No quote-RT equivalent. Can't see reply/boost/favorite numbers without clicking on a post. There is no good reason to not have these. Don't @ me with "but trolls use them—" Bullshit. Trolls are the problem with trolls, not the user tools.

       I've lost enthusiasm for trying to get people to move to #Mastodon, because I'll sound like a dumbass if I have to say, "Well sure, it's missing a ton of basic features, but having shitty usability is great, y'all!"

       Sorry to be so negative, but I really want these features. Good UI isn't what broke Twitter, and making #mastodon less functional isn't what will stop trolls. I know I'm not the only one, and I think we're going to have to start pushing harder and being more vocal about this.

       @jjLitke Someone else might have told you this already, but there are other ActivityPub implementations (Pleroma, Misskey, etc.) and most of them include the features you want. Mastodon is not the Fediverse. If anything, it’s its least interesting part.
