@jeanettepizzurroThat's good news!I had a friend with a cat who got diabetes around 20 yrs old. His wife stopped working until the cat passed 3 yrs later, it was his childhood cat. They had a child at that time too.

@jeanettepizzurroHe paid $5k for his wife's miniature dachshunds back surgery. The dog is alive and fully mobile because of it. When the cat got sick he basically told her he needed the cat looked after and he'd cover all the bills until the end.I've known the man for 39 years and he's one of the good guys. We grew up on connecting farms. The person I call when shit hits the fan or when I was in jail once years ago. 🙄

@That_One_Guy He is one of the good ones. I don’t know a lot of farm people but the ones I know aren’t real passionate animals lovers. Cats are for mousing and dogs for protection.

@jeanettepizzurroI think after watching our fathers shoot pets that got injured we go above and beyond to try to get them help at the vet before we go that route. Farmers are typically passionate about their livestock and yeah the dogs are protection and the cats are for mousing.

@jeanettepizzurroYeah her little dachshund started having issues getting around and they got up my morning and he was dragging his back legs. It was an expensive surgery but the dog is in perfect health now. The little guy lived with her all through college so he meant a lot to her and my buddy knew that and he could afford it.

@jeanettepizzurroWell he's like me, comfortable but far from wealthy. We were both raised in the lower middle class so we got good at saving our money and smart with finances.My backyard is a swamp currently as well, Pixie is coming in wet head to toe and we're mopping every trip out. I might go to a dark place to take pictures tonight. Not sure about today.Have fun with your grandson! I hope the weather stays nice for the visit.

@jeanettepizzurroMarijuana possession, which ironically was expunged from my record when they legalized it in Missouri. We grew it on the farm so it wasn't ever taboo for me. I was once taken in for fighting too but was released to my mom with no charges, both of us were.

@That_One_Guy I spent the night in jail when I hitchhiked to CA. We were stupid kids that picked Feb to cross country hitching. We were so cold and couldn’t find a ride in Omaha NE so we went to the jail. They were, suppose to give you temporary cover. The cops were total assholes but we did sleep in a cell with a cover and in the AM they ran their billy clubs on the rails to wake us up “get the hell out”🙄. memories Btw I was talking about hot air balloon race,moon glow. Be awesome pics.

@jeanettepizzurroYeah mine was in the stupid kid category, definitely. I did get hit with a large mag light in the process of mine, got some street credit with my peers. Oh my dumbass younger days... I have been to the great balloon race at Forest Park but I have not been to the night version. I'll have to keep an eye out for the moon glow.

@That_One_Guy I love trains, and the last two birthdays in July I’ve taken my grandson to big cities via Amtrak. Last year we took Amtrak to Chicago stayed in a really nice hotel two blocks from the lake. He’s never even seen the ocean he loved it and the weather was perfect. He was parading down Michigan Avenue with three shopping bags on his arms and pretending he was Julia Roberts in pretty woman. What fun!

@jeanettepizzurroI'm not big at a shopping either, that's why I'm here at the house while the girls are out grocery shopping.We hit the one mall down the street it had pretty much everything. There was also a Dr. Seuss museum that I enjoyed.
