@shortwavesurfer2009 came up pretty fast for me. I don't know. I've been trying to reach my admin about the version upgrade, so I'll ask him to take a look when he gets back to me. @mr_penguin

@FTL_Ian @mr_penguin well, its definately been a problrm since i joined the server. I am using the tusky app for android but have never seen this before. Are you using an app or the web interface?

@shortwavesurfer2009@FTL_IanSeems to be fine. The thought this might be replicable is wrong. The issue we ran into earlier appears to have been with the internet connection. It may be similar for the person on the free talk live mastodon instance.

@shortwavesurfer2009@FTL_IanAs far as I can tell its just you. But there really isn't enough to go on here. What do you mean by 'slow'? Do you experience this from multiple Internet connections and devices? Upgrading mastodon won't likely fix an issue that you have always had. Its been upgraded many of times before. There will be an upgrade at some point, but this is unlikely to resolve your issue.

@mr_penguin @FTL_Ian i havent tried another device, but have indeed seen this on both wifi and cellular lte and 5g. I have also wiped my phone and reinstalled and reauthorized tusky (for a totally unrelated reason) and its the same even after a factory reset. I dont care for mastodons web ui so never use it. I could try another app and will do so to eliminate that as a source of the trouble. However, tusky has always worked fine on other servers and the issue persists after a factory reset making me doubt its the app.

@shortwavesurfer2009@FTL_IanI don't know then ... but it does not appear that there is an issue given others using tusky. It is hard to fix an issue no one else can replicate. And the very word 'slow' is extremely unclear for a service that isn't exactly got a speed component to begin with.

@mr_penguin @FTL_Ian yep, Megalodon (a fork of the official mastodon app) is slow on both wifi and 5g and throws quite a few 404 errors.The thing acts like the server is hosted in Europe or asia with a 300+ms ping time. I ran a ping test and its not nearly that high.

@shortwavesurfer2009@FTL_IanSame device though you said. If no one can replicate the issue its hard for me to conclude there is an issue. There is of course still that possibility... but as far as can be seen here right now there isn't one. In any event if there is an issue its something to be resolved more than likely with a hardware upgrade. Upgrading the software isn't likely to resolve the issue. If it isn't that than it is hard to say what it is if it is anything at all. Undoubtedly I have no idea where you are connecting from or what route your traffic is taking or any other number of things. It really doesn't matter as I can't solve your issue. I don't admin this server.

@shortwavesurfer2009 @mr_penguin he lives with the admin. When we are able to reach the admin, we'll ask him to check the system resources to see if it's overloaded.
