       @GayDeceiver As Gen-Xers we seem to catch the shit from the Boomers and the Gen-Zers & Millenials. We never catch a break lol. We're the generation that grew up without seatbelts as kids with our parents arms as said seatbelts. I mean priog generations did too. BUT we had to deal with more cars on the road and increased accident risks. We dealt with blowing into Ninteno Cartridges to make them work! THAT WAS HELL!

       @GayDeceiver I personally hate generation labels.  We didn't have them when I was a kid - we just had "older people" and "younger people".  They're a divide-and-rule strategy.  For one thing, generational labels which put me in a different generation from my two younger sisters are a nonsense, and for another my age doesn't determine my politics.  I've been solidly woke since I had a political opinion!

       @GayDeceiver thank you for making the point about how small our cohort is, it's a major factor in current economics, we should be at our earning peak, but because of frozen wages and a tiny group, there aren't enough of us to keep the wheels turning

       @GayDeceiver I find it helpful to point out that there’s one city in North America where we outnumber the Boomers so they can’t lock us out like they have everywhere else, and that city is Seattle, where we can and do elect socialists who call themselves socialists and have long been one of the boogyman cities of the GOP.Seattle politics are GenX politics.

       @moira @GayDeceiver Unfortunately a lot of those “socialist “ will NOT be seeking reelection. Too many too’s. Too hard, too dangerous, too slow, too many homeless, etc. I don’t live in Seattle, but from what I read Downtown is shrinking, businesses are moving. Not enough police too many criminals. We must solve the problem of homelessness. It is a crisis for every city, including mine. I am hoping the ‘Social Housing’ initiative works. JimK; Humanity over Flag

Hippies exist, and are almost never the ones insisting on being treated as an authority while disrespecting other humans simply for being young. That’s not who gets told “OK Boomer.” It’s a phrase to shut down the “you should just” cluelessness conservative Boomers speak as if the world hasn’t changed, like work your way through college, apply for jobs in person, etc. As if everyone else is lazy.

       @GayDeceiver  To be fair, Gen X is the generation of Karens and Chads. Difference is we know it, and don’t usually try to defend them. I will never understand why the hippies defend the conservative Boomers whenever someone bitches about them. Each generation is more liberal than the last, in the US. Gen X is still conservative, esp whites, just less so than Boomers. Millennials are left of us. Gen Z is full fucking feral and I 100% support them.
