       @Soyweiser It's that exponential rate-of-change curve, isn't it? Change takes longer than you expect at first, then suddenly it's all changing a LOT faster than you ever imagined because after the inflection point the curve goes nearly vertical.

       @cstross I think it was more that you saw things I didn't see or was ignoring at the time. Didn't help I was reading a bit of LW/SSC stuff, which made me prone to dismiss/rationalize away concerns.But it certainly has been a few years in which decades of change happen. So this all combined in a little bit of future shock.A bit worried it seems to not be contained to the UK/US but spreads. You can now vote for 3 far right dutch parties.

       @Soyweiser You can find it in Australia: google "Hillsong" if you want the plague locus that infected their last government. Similar religious right-wing radicalization is at work in Turkey, Israel, Russia, India, Hungary, Poland, and elsewhere. It's not specific to any one religion, either: it's like they're egging each other on.
