       @Natasha_Jay Don't get me wrong, I would support trans rights regardless, and always have.But not gonna lie, sticking it to the patriarchy is an added ancillary benefit. 😉

       @BarrenPlanet Yeah plus gender identities and queer theory are all rooted in feminism ... which is why the TERFs either have to bash Butler or simply ignore/ rubbish feminist historyWhen you dig, 95% of the them are incoherent and don't know feminist history ie. just a mask for transphobia ...

Plus if they genuinely cared about the safety of all women, they'd understand that transphobia hurts cis women too: we've all seen the disturbing vids of cis women who, for whatever reason, don't happen to look like rich, elegant, white, middle-aged writers of fantasy fiction, being aggressively harrassed in bathrooms or attacked on the streets.The TERF's narrow conception of 'femininity' is a *part* of the patriarchy they dishonesty claim to oppose, and a feminism that isn't intersectional is no feminism at all.

       @BarrenPlanet As I read "that" toxic UK TERFy forum on Mumset I know 5% of them (generally ring-leaders) know feminist history but are willfully corrosive or misleading. The other 95% are priviliged middle-class, relatively affluent and when when discussion gets hard or complex at all say stuff like "then we've got to repeal the GRA 2004!"They really don't see they are part of the patriarchy. It's protectionism - for them feminism is done and dusted vs an ongoing struggle for *genuine* equalityBut I see it - women's abortion rights, easy access / no gatekeeping to post-menopausal HRT are the same vein of ongoing fight as trans folks access to HRT. But of course it's 50% of the population vs 0.x%
