Quoting former prosecutor and law professor Randall Eliason:"In a typical case, subpoenas going to people like Meadows, Pence, Ivanka, and Jared would be a sign the investigation is wrapping up. These are the kind of top-level witnesses that you save for the end, when you have as much information as possible with which to confront them."But remember, for Fani Willis, "imminent" is at least a month 😉 https://twitter.com/RDEliason/status/1628520113522581506

@Teri_Kanefield Let's call it a Goldilocks indictment, not too fast and not to slow, but just right, "now get in the fking cell you traitorous schmucks."

@Teri_Kanefield The timing for District Attorney Willis is constrained by grand jury terms in Fulton County, Georgia, right?

@Teri_Kanefield Remember also that subpoenas in this context need lots and lots and *LOTS* of lead time. Time consuming motions to quash are also guaranteed.

@Teri_Kanefield So today is Ash Wednesday. Will indictments of Trump & his besties drop by Good Friday, or will we have to wait until Pentecost? (I will be extremely disappointed if it's not before Michaelmas)

@DrewKadel I had an editor who was so slow that the family joke went like this:It's November. He said 'after the holidays' so he probably means July Fourth.Or:He says he'll be reading in March, but he forgot to say which year.

@Teri_Kanefield And you have other witnesses and evidence for every question you are going to ask them so you'll know if they are lying... right?I know these are #DOJ subpoenas so they can't ignore them like the #Jan6 committee ones but won't it just be a lot of "I take the fifth" and "I don't recall" ?

@45xiatai @Teri_Kanefield Yes, as, apparently, is the time frame for getting the trial started without running afoul of the need for a "speedy" trial.

@joeinwynnewood @45xiatai The need for a speedy trial doesn't begin until after indictments are issued.

@Teri_Kanefield @45xiataiI think it was @harrylitman who said on the TV machine that there is a clock in GA that's tied to the start date of the Grand Jury that issues the indictments.
