       Perhaps Putin should hold a referendum now, rather late in the day, on whether Russia has the right to annex another sovereign state. Let us find out what the Russian people think.        @kennethb Russian people gave a standing ovation when he talked of conquered territory yesterday. Don’t delude yourself. With few exceptions, they love it! They are miserable and want others to be too. It’s been so for centuries.

       @edgeoforever They are losing a generation of young men for nothing. Giving them medals will not bring them back. The Russian people have a lot of mothers and fathers and brothers and sisters and grandmothers and grandfathers, who are devastated and grieving. They may be brain-washed, but they could at least be given a chance to express their feelings. They may surprise you. Many will just want it to stop.

       @kennethb @edgeoforever They're probably thankful to Putin that their sons got to die in a blaze of glory, while fighting the 'Nazi horde' in Ukraine, while babuskas toast the slain with copious amounts of vodka, and with tears in their eyes cry "blessed are they who died in such a righteous war! If our beloved Stalin were alive, he'd be so proud!"

       @Tilopa @edgeoforever Not all Russians are that brain-washed. There is a substantial resistance movement led by younger people with access to information from the west. They are a growing minority. They are the future.
