I'd have a lot more faith in the "15 minute city" concept if the people pushing it didn't just spend the last 3 years figuring out exactly how much tyranny they can get away with before people start genuinely pushing back. That and the other day I had to visit an office that took me about 10 minutes to drive to but would have taken me about 2 hours (and 3 transfers) to use public transit to get to.

@meowski It's this utopian concept that sounds good in theory but in practice it'll be used for exactly that. Western countries are bereft of social trust, infrastructural capability, and most importantly a ruling class that hasn't gone completely off the fucking rails. There's no way these utopian dreams will work but governments are still going to push through with mandates and legislated deadlines as if somehow they'll do anything but make everything worse.Would I like to live in a place where most goods and services are a quick 15 minute walk away? Sure. But that will never happen as long as the current ruling class is running things.

@Duine it's a trojan horse. whatever environmental concerns the elite pushing this have are far overshadowed by their psycho fantasies about killing everyone.i think the "for the earth" part of killing everyone would just be a fringe benefit
