@seldo I actually like cubicles! An office with a door that closes always felt too isolating to me, and open offices are what Satan would invent to torture humans if he existed. Cubicles have just enough privacy, but the ability to stand up and chat or ask a question when you needed to. But I'm also weird :)

@seldo eventually, we'll just put a vesa mount on the side of our houses so cranes can carry them off and attach them to the office building. then the return to office people can be satisfied that we came back to the office.

@seldo snark aside though I would have killed for this kind of noise isolation in all my years working in cattle farms... uh I mean open office plans. Even at small startup scales they were annoying as hell, and I'm so glad the pandemic gave me license to freely say "I'll never return to an office unless I truly can't provide for myself otherwise" now

@seldo Oh dear. đ¨I'm glad and grateful that I can work in a setting where the loudest noises are ⌠listened for a moment ⌠the ticking of a wall clock (going to be replaced in a few weeks), the TimeMachine disk (when it starts working) and the fan of the notebook (if/when it starts getting really busy).
