I've just bought an Anker SoundCore 2 Bluetooth speaker. It is absolutely fabulous. Considering I only paid £27, including delivery, it gives a really good sound, and seems to be sturdily made. The whole exterior has a rubbery feel, and is reassuringly heavy. It is IPX7 rated, so, being caught in the rain shouldn't be a problemIt has a wee door on one side which has a micro-USB connection (for charging) and a jack socket.More than one Anker speaker can be used to provide even more sound. 👍

@gemlog Exactly my purpose for buying the speaker (except the bit about deer).Over the years I've got used to 'phone speaker sound. However, the Anker speaker gives so much more depth. I'll never go back to 'phone speaker.

@fitheach I've got the older version (wasn't named "1" :D) for many years. Sound is good quality and and still running well. Battery still lasts long. Definitely a great product given the price!

@alfajet Anker claim this one's battery can last for 24 hourse. Which is impressive.

@gemlog No, that noise you were hearing was the bacon sizzling.

@fitheach I've been consistently disappointed with SoundCore products. Hope your experience is better!Every one of them I've owned worked fine in the beginning but soon began to act up: dead battery in portable speaker, frayed earbuds cable, broken headphone parts, hissing from the replacement headphone when ANC is on...My 13-year old Sony MDR-7506 still works great. Bargain bin Philips speaker has a stutter, but hasn't fallen apart. I'll pony up a little more next time.

@sajith Now you tell me! 😃 If it does begin to act up, rest assured everyone will hear about it.

@fitheach So sorry that I didn't get to telepathically communicate with you before you made the purchase!I've been eyeing Marshall speakers, but they are not priced anywhere close to £27. 😟

@sajith I've often looked at Marshall's, too. Usually on a big stage. 😃
