@killyourfm in my experience it is often enough to give the game a real chance for a few chapters, to pull you in so to say. After that you'll be glad you stuck around. There was a reason why you bought it after all :)

@killyourfm Those were SO good. Especially Hexic. I already went dumpster diving in my harddrive, though, and dug out Tales of Arise, Prince of Persia: Forgotten Sands and Ridge Racer 7 after having a quick go at Super Stardust HD. I'd completely forgotten that Prince of Persia game existed, and I am surprised by how good it is. It's basically like the best bits of Tomb Raider/Assassin's Creed over and over again. (Explore, climb, solve puzzle, fight - repeat)

@killyourfm Yes. That was THE reason to buy a 360 for me. There were many great XBLA games. The absolute peak for me was Space Giraffe. The most underrated game on the service. The learning curve was wild, but it was so utterly satisfying.

@killyourfm That just underlines my point :) Many were scared off by the difficulty curve or dismissed it as "another Tempest rehash", but once you get into it, it becomes something else entirely. It is about maintaining a flow state while using all sensory input to play the game. Essentially, you will keep failing in later levels if you try to play it like a twitch arcade game using only your sight. It is an explosion of visuals, and sound + overview is key to survival. Nothing like it.
