       @john can the winning sauropods have a bold bell update, please?it's suddenly WAY easier to see on mastodon.online This screenshots are what I see looking my own profile on each server from my own profile on the other server (incase that's confusing) @irtapil @ sauropods.win and @irtapil@mastodon.online (or maybe that sentence makes it more confusing?)

       @irtapil @irtapil@mastodon.online what does it do? Turn on notifications for that person?The servers run by the Mastodon team often get features before the rest of us, because they sometimes run unreleased versions.

       @irtapil @irtapil@mastodon.online There are good infographics about what finds it's way onto your server's timelines, but as to the broader picture, I think you'd have to narrow down what you are confused about (which is hard to do when you're confused I know!)

       @john @irtapil@sauropods.win it's updated now, did you update the software or is sauropods an instance within an instance?yeah, i found that - "infographics about what finds it's way onto your server's timelines" - I'm more wondering about how it gets there  … e.g. it seems something updated on the winning sauropods, but you don't seem to be the one who did it…

       @irtapil@mastodon.online @irtapil sauropod.win is on managed hosting, @mastohost takes care of the technical aspect of running the server, I do the moderation. So they upgrade the Mastodon software for me.

       @john @irtapil@sauropods.win yeah when they post things they appear in your notification fees instead of just the home feedGood for favourite accounts, or just accounts that post infrequently and I'd otherwise never end up seeing.
