       Whoohoo, a diagnosis. Bad alternator. Nearly $2k fix total. Whee.But it's spiking as high as 27+ volts, youch, that can't be good for the electronics in the car. Glad I brought it in right away.

       Apparently some tech sat with the engine running and staring at a multimeter on the alternator for 30 minutes to get this result. I am both envious and glad I did not have to do that.
