Microsoft Investing $10 Billion In OpenAI. Microsoft announced its intent to acquire Activision Blizzard for $68.7 billion in cash. Yes Microsoft fired 10k people and planning more in the coming months. Google has more cash in the bank, yet they fired 12k people. Same story with Amazon and other FANGS. There is a pattern here. They have money to acquire new companies but will eliminate hard-working talent. They are taking advantage of the economic slowdown.

A friend (they are in FL, USA) is a cancer survivor but needs to take certain medicines to avoid returning cancer and complication and do specific tests every two months. Unfortunately, now they are fired and have no insurance. The cash-rich company don't think about human life. It is all about money and I'm sick of these cash rich companies and their C-suits who takes millions in salary each year. They put my friend under extreme stress now.

@nixCraft It's morally and socially wrong, as well as on every other level, except monetarily. It's a logical outgrowth of #capitalism and its incentives of #shareholder value maximisation. As long as we're willing to accept #economic interests to trump human concerns without unrelenting pushback, it will continue on ever more aggressively.
