       When did Mastodon start to support quote posts? Or is this a thing some 3rd party clients are adding on their own? Just saw a toot where someone had linked to another toot, and that other toot was included by Ice Cubes as an embed.I feel like this is going to annoy a lot of people, who were glad to leave quote posts behind on the birdsite.

       @liampomfret it’s a consequence of link previews and opening Mastodon links in-app (both of which are undoubtably correct behaviours). In my opinion Mastodon needs to build in consent-based QTing, or this is the system we’ll get, which is QTing without notification.
