Do you know why you won't find any mention anywhere on the W3C website of #web3? It does not exist. BOOM! There is one web.

@w3c i'm still salty about web3 being co-opted away from meaning the semantic web

@w3c These are more or less marketing buzzwords. "Web 2.0" includes much of our modern web, and its key thing seems to be client-side processing. I want to call the SPA (single-page application) era "Web 2.1" and maybe, just to avoid confusion with the new crypto-based web3, we can call our next movement for newer semantic/federated tech (i.e. AP/Matrix) Web 2.5 or skip it and go straight to Web 4.Maybe I'll write a blog post to more officially coin one of these, so what do you think?

@w3c But speaking of shady suspects, I'm still weirded out by the continued existence of W3Schools."Riding the coat-tails of name recognition" would be putting it nicely, and it's quite confusing for students new to web development. I've caught their examples being fundamentally functionally wrong, and others promoting worst-practices, not best.I'm… going to guess "W3" is a difficult mark to acquire… 😢

@w3c not to be confused with Web 3.0" I presume? Because you certainly did invent that one.
