@killyourfm I (sadly) missed out on FOSDEM this year, I've been many times before and I do regret not going there.However, I wanted to ask for your view since you were there.My impression of the talks I've watched and the traffic on Fedi is that both Fedi and Matrix seems to have grown a lot and have become common on FOSDEM?Do you share this impression? I'm not sure if you have a reference point though since I don't know if you've been there before.

@sa0bse You're right, I don't really have any comparison points since it was my first time. But some observations:I joked while there that the new version of exchanging business cards is sharing your #Matrix contact info through QR code :D That being said, I hung out near the Matrix booth for awhile, and they were explaining the basic concept of it to a bunch of people. And in the opening keynote, we were urged to share our thoughts and the #FOSDEM hashtag on Mastodon (not on Twitter).

@killyourfm I remember one FOSDEM where I attended the Matrix talk where they first introduced Matrix as a protocol... :DThat was some while ago... and it took many years before I started using it on a regular basis. It kinda required Freenode going weird and lots of channels moving to Matrix.That's very cool to hear about the FOSDEM hashtag and promoting to use it on Fedi 🙂

@sa0bse Plus they had the big Matrix 2.0 talk this year -- and it doesn't hurt that every talk had a livestream video + chat through Matrix. Was that the case last year as well?

@killyourfm That's how they did FOSDEM when there were no physical events 🙂 So I'm not surprised that they kept that. I didn't have time to attend to even that so I'm catching up now instead 😉
