I love the original EOS 5D so much. It's a digital SLR but there's parts of it that feel almost film like. The shutter makes a specific and wonderful sound. The images come out with a specific digital softness that feels unique. It has no live view and uses a 7 segment display for settings while shooting. It's HEAVY.Also I can't believe it's going to be 18 years old this year!

It's strange how good and strange it feels to use an actual digital SLR. I've only been using mirrorless for about 4 years (Fujifilm X-T30), but I got used to it so quickly. Also I can't believe I used to lug this thing around as recently as 2018. Somewhat anachronistically, I only got this camera in 2015 when it was already a decade old. I wanted a full frame digital camera and it was fairly affordable. It replaced my EOS 400D (Digital Rebel XTi).

Here's a few shots from today. I can't describe well what I like about the shots that come out of this camera, I just think it's neat!
