       a **very** significant harbinger of this imo is the NYT's successful Wirecutter thingy. Silicon Valley has spent a **ton** of money and effort targeting people who are searching the internet to buy a thing, but that experience has been so dramatically enshitified that people are now using a subscription-only human-curated portal.
