Even having the thermostat set to 64º all month long we are still looking at a $235 projected gas bill again for about 382 cu ft of gas per day.

@vees Some of the people here pay 800 euros per month now. I get the feeling those energy companies are abusing the situation a little too much.

@vees Yikes! We got very lucky. My wife is an environmental economist specializing in energy issues, so almost two years ago she locked us into an okay rate with some alternate natural gas provider for two years, which saved us a ton this winter. In the meantime we got rid of our gas stove and water heater.

@jemaleddin Every time since deregulation that someone tried to sell me a locked in rate, the previous two year prices had declined so I just figured I was better off with whatever BGE was allowed by the PUC to sell for. Has that changed now?
