       hmm so my bluetooth headphones can work as a headset with microphone, but you must switch the codec from A2DP to HFP, which apparently also turns audio quality to rubbish.

       @piggo you can reclaim some audio quality by selecting one of the non-baseline codecs (mSBC, giving you 16kHz sampling rather than 8kHz IIRC). I think you'll need to be using Pipewire for that; I don't believe that PulseAudio ever implemented the necessary switches to enable non-terrible BT codecs.

       @RAOF This could be the first practical reason to switch to pipewire - last time I tried it I ended up with no sound, because :arch: is the best
