A new trend in the pandemic: friends who have taken pandemic safety very seriously because they are medically vulnerable or at high risk for various reasons are reporting that their family & other people around them are "tired" of keeping them safe, are pressuring them to take more risks, & are actively endangering them.More & more of my most fragile friends are getting sick now.It's terrifying. It's also a moral horror.

@ShaulaEvans Yup. This is definitely the reality right now.I'm high-risk, and people are actively confused that I mask. They just want to move on.I'm so gaslit I don't know which way is up to be honest.

@ShaulaEvans I'm feeling both somehow guilty and yet relieved, that in my home here in Belgium, the political nonsense of anti-masking doesn't seem to have taken hold.I've been pleasantly surprised, even, that as I go out, masked when in a shop, or when the crowd makes 1.5 meters distance impossible, I'm mostly dealt with kindly, and without reference to the masks.But, these are not family, or friends, people with relationships they can presume to use to pressure me.
