       @steveschmidtses The corrosion of public character norms *long* predates MAGA, but it is very concerning that the primary lesson politicians have taken from Trump is "be as crude, bigoted, and thuggish as possible, and above all hold yourself to zero standards whatsoever!". Frankly, adopting such a mentality probably won't even emotionally satisfy MAGA voters themselves (especially over the long haul), let alone actually solve any problems regular people face in this country.
