@sonyasteele Boosted, favorited, and bookmarked. Bookmarked because there will be days when I'm driving to work and will need #TrevorNoah 's words. There will also be days when I will listen on my way to pick up my brilliant Black daughter from high school. I'll play this for her when her eye contact with me is shifty. I'll play it when my college kid Black daughter starts interviewing for jobs. Black women also know how to accept love & water it. If you know Trevor, tell him we see him, too.

#Status: My children are cooking the greens (prosperity), black-eyed peas (luck), yams (love), mac and cheese (because), fried chicken (IYKYK) and sweet potato pies (because yeeeessss) while I finish off the champagne (not prosecco) with my legs crossed. We streamed church earlier and got our prep and praise on at the same time. There may or may not have been tears of joy and expectation in that communion champagne. Get at me. #NewYear2023 #SouthernTraditions #BlackMastodon #TGBTG

@adamasnemesis @steveschmidtses You're right. Fear is the underlying emotion, and it's motivational junk food.

@mekkaokereke Teach, teacher! Imagine spending a whole year of 7th grade in Texas History and NEVER learning that, in La Batalla de Puebla (The Battle of Puebla), Gen. Zaragoza and his Mexican troops defeated the French who were on their way to help defend the Confederacy. THIS is why we celebrate Cinco de Mayo. Not for tacos and margaritas. I learned this 30 years after turning in my Texas History book.
