It's been a while since I've posted about this. Consider this a PSA for Amiga 2000 owners. If the mouse on your Amiga 2000 suddenly quits working, check for +5V missing on the mouse/joystick ports (pin 7). If you don't find +5V on pin 7, check for one of these fuses (which happens to not look like a fuse) on the board up near the joystick ports, and if you find one, check it for continuity. It's quite possible that it's blown and will need to be replaced.#retrocomputing #fuse #amiga

@paradroyd I feel like saving this post. This is the kind of info I’ll need if I ever own an Amiga again.

@FreyaSu Maybe, maybe not. Some A2000 revisions have this fuse, some don't.On the ones that don't, if it gets overloaded you'd probably blow something a lot worse (and harder to find) than a fuse.I guess I'm lucky that mine is fused. I blew it once a few years ago. It was probably my Cocolino mouse adapter.

In case you're wondering, this is where that fuse is located on my Rev 6 Amiga 2000 motherboard. Look closely, just to the right of the joystick/mouse ports. I've highlighted it in red. This picture was taken while I was in-process of replacing the on-board clock battery with a button cell .Some revs don't have a fuse there are all.#amiga #retrocomputing #fuse

The fuse probably saved you from having to replace a CIA.

@mnemonicoverload @FreyaSu CIAs are easy. What I read is that sometimes the trace itself blows.
