@RoboBonobo here is our report on #scuttlebutt and #nostr https://mattlorentz.com/weblog/2023/01/18/nostr-v-ssb.htmlThe main criticisms of nostr is that you don’t do the pull feed scoping of Scuttlebutt so it’s more vulnerable to abuse and spam. There is also a cultural thing that nostr devs tend to come from the Bitcoin community and Scuttlebutt from solarpunk dweb.

@olavf @vitriolix nostr doesn’t use Bitcoin or any cryptocurrency but a lot of it’s devs and early adopters are Bitcoin bros. Moderation is possible but the current system is lacking.

@rabble@vitriolix yeah, I poked around again the morning, and a lot of BTC, some idle chatter, and a dash of deep-state antisemitism. Granted, this was just the public-facing feed, so overall things could be better or worse. Good moderation is key to any good SM instance. It's part of why I killed my ~100 user diaspora* instance, and part of what killed my friends' ~10k instance there
