       So I never played the game Tomb Raider or even watched the movies, but I would probably checkout a Tomb Raider show if it appeared online (at least for one episode).Earlier Friday, The Hollywood Reporter said that Amazon is developing a TV series based on the Tomb Raider video game franchise with scripts written by Phoebe Waller-Bridge. But that’s apparently not all: later in the day, Deadline corroborated the report about the TV series and added that a new Tomb Raider movie is in the works at Amazon Studios, too.Details are light on these new Tomb Raider adaptations, but THR says that while Waller-Bridge will serve as a writer and executive producer on the show, she won’t be starring. The show is apparently still in the development stages, so we probably shouldn’t expect to see it anytime soon. (The Verge)I assume it would probably be as successful as the video games & prior movies.However I think this is Amazon’s attempt at cashing in on video-game-to-show craze that is sweeping the world thanks to HBO’s “The Last Of Us” series which made its debut earlier this month.

       @darnell The videogame to show/movie is usually rubbish in my personal experience. Most of the movies based on games I've seen are horrible and has very little to do with the source material. Just a lame escuse to use a popular name to lure in fans.

       @raccoon @darnell The Last of Us series seems very good so far. Probably the best video game to (any) screen adaptation I’ve seen. There are a few changes but it charts pretty close to the original script.

       @maverick604 @darnell That's interesting. In case I gave the impression, I didn't mean to say that it's impossible to do it right, just that so far I wasn't impressed with any of the things I've seen.Especially resident evil, I really really disliked the movies I've seen.

       @darnell @raccoon I agree. I was prepared for the worst with LoU, but they managed to do it Justice so far. It’s only 2 episodes in, however, so plenty of time for my fears to be realized. 😝 In fairness, I think video game adaptations to screen are really hard because of the difference in empathy between a 1st person perspective and 3rd person narrative.
