I'm a big fan of the mRNA vaccine tech, and have received both Pfizer and Moderna shots. This gouging is just sickening. "Moderna is quadrupling the cost of covid vaccines, from $26/dose to $110-130. Moderna CEO Stephane Bancel calls the price hike "consistent with the value" of the mRNA vaccines. Moderna's manufacturing costs are $2.85/dose, for a 4,460% markup..."Courtesy of @pluralistic https://pluralistic.net/2023/01/25/nationalize-moderna/#herd-immunity#covid #vaccines

@pluralistic when people complain about "big pharma", THIS IS IT! The "big [insert industry]" gripes are often overused and is sometimes the case with Pharma; but what Moderna is doing is pure evil. Profits over people...

@baseline in my country the Pfizer was the first mRNA vaccine available, so I got it. Later on, the Moderna was also available for boosters. There has been a number of studies that showed that getting boosters of different types produced similar or higher antibody and T-Cell titres, so when the Moderna was available to me I took it instead of the Pfizer. Secondly, there is some research showing the Moderna boosters may induce a better immune response for longer in some people.
