       Why is Tiktok is recommending adult, sexually themed and transphobic "Gays Against Groomers" content to children? My kiddo just walked over and showed me this transphobic diatribe (which is very much for adults only) which Tiktok automatically brought up on his "For You" page. The other videos on his feed are of skateboards, ebikes, MMA, and cars.

       @xenophile @chadloder if you try to block content for kids on networks you don't control, they'll just go out of their way to see what it is you're so concerned about on a network you don't.

       @chadloder My suspicion is that it may be one of two things:1. TikTok's algorithm thinks this content is engaging on account of it being so enraging and promotes it as a result, and TikTok's human moderation is unwilling to moderate (or more likely unaware it exists given TikTok's sheer size) leading to it being recommended/2. Alternatively, something akin to what was happening with Andrew Tate might be going on, where the number of people spreading the content is so massive (in Tate's case due to using an MLM to increase the number of people posting his crap) that all moderation of any kind is overwhelmed. This is IMHO unlikely: I don't see these people being as clever about it.
