       Maybe my own fault for turning off personalization but do they have to default to: You are overweight and desperately in need of a weight loss program and a good bra or ten. Also, your dog probably has stiff joints you ignore so you may as well be a dog murderer. I liked it better when it thought I was probably a meditation instructor or a super rich person interested in private jet clubs.Capitalism, you so tiring.

       @nancybaym I'm embarrassed to admit that I enjoy IG mainly for the highly targeted ads. It reminds me of that experience of killing time by browsing SkyMall Magazine and looking at fun gadgets for problems I didn't know I had.

       @clive @andresmh @nancybaym I started social media (Youtube and Twitter) as a healthcare advocate & mentor after I had a feeding tube inserted and sent home from hospital without instructions. Over time, I had to turn off personalized ads because I was tired of getting funeral home, life insurance, and even once, an ad for 'buy your own' casket direct from wholesalers. I guess they expect you to store that in the basement until needed. Sicker I felt, AI knew & sent more.
