       so hmmm measuring RPM of the anemometer proves quite challenging. if I just count pulses per second, it won't be accurate for slow speeds. If I do that for 10s or full minute, it will be mostly ok but have slow reaction time.I could keep a running buffer of 60 bins with counts per second and sum that ... but that still reacts slowly to speed changes.and then there's also the gust measurement.there's too many ways to get this wrong, lol

       when you think of wind speed, you think "wind is blowing at more or less a constant rate ..."except that doesn't really happen, it changes a lot all the time

       also the esp8266 doesn't have any input capture and even the one hardware timer it has is at best questionable, so ... well if i can measure anything, it will be Very approximate. works just as well since i have no way to calibrate it, lmao

       @piggo I'm not sure how you're measuring RPM or whether this is feasible, but can you get it to generate more than one pulse per rotation?

       @RAOF I guess, maybe? I could put maybe three hall sensors there. They're open drain so that works... That's a good hack to increase resolution, actually
