@kairyssdal This is right in line with my experience. In the office I manage, it's been weeks since no one had to stay home to care for a sick child. Cold, flu, Covid, RSV, hand-foot-mouth, you name it. #anecdata

@kairyssdal Among other things, ISTM this is an indication of the self-defeating nature of the near total lack of mandatory sick leave for US workers. Because US workers have little to no sick leave, we send our kids to school sick rather than taking off work to stay home with them. As a result sickness spreads further and faster among kids leading to missed work anyway when kids get too sick to go to school and adults get ill as well.
