       @Polychrome @doot yeah, having read about that situation makes me weary about having sex workers congregate too much. It’s a risk to have everyone in one place.  And even tho it’s imperfect, there’s still a willingness for sexworkers to post safer-for-work content on platforms that aren’t sex work friendly if it’s deemed worth it, so mastodon seems better in that regard by default to say, TikTok/instagram.

       @veronicadax @doot the fediverse is probably the wrong place for this sort of a thing because of its federated nature requiring server hosting.We really need to crack P2P social networks that can scale.

       Going through the #sexwork hashtag, it’s disappointing how few people are at all concerned or curious about the lack of #sexworkers on mastodon. I can only conclude that mastodon is not sexwork-friendly and that is pretty disappointing to me. I hope at some point it will be, but the community of the fediverse should probably wonder why, considering the role as canaries sex workers have played in society, especially online.

       I’ve shared a ton of information about mastodon to my #sexworker peers and there has been very little interest. And really the only reason I’m here is because I’m a giant nerd, not because I have an onlyfans.
