@piggo I would've gave up and just use a paracord bracelet and then get the same thing that the paracord uses to clip on and just affix it to the handle mounting pointsit's easily replaceable and looks cool

@piggo I am also wondering if the rubber can be cleanly stripped from the handle. maybe abrasion with alcohol, or very light use of acetone(though CAD and 3D printing are a nice fun solution too!)

@tlalexander it's molded to it... I can kind of strip it, but it peels in layers. It's a handle from a Hoover vacuum, btw

My vacuum is finally re-assembled with the new handle. Definitely not worth the trouble, everything holds together by crappy plastic clips, modeling it was a major pain, too. But yeah it works...
