@Raspberry_Pi I would very much like to see a serious apology for what happened recently, and a genuine effort to understand why people are upset. Its less the hiring of this person but how responses were handled. The gaslighting sucks. Our open source project relies on Raspberry Pi and I am saddened at how you have harmed the brand. Please face your actions, understand them, and apologize. You can and must do better.

@rachael @notjustbikes I can understand going above the speed limit somewhat. It would actually be dangerous here to only ever go the speed limit. Our laws were meant to be a gray area, I guess, because everyone in California goes 5-10mph over and they don’t usually ticket you unless you’re going 10+ over. Though 20% is in that range. But yeah overall it’s an immature and dangerous system.

@wooliex @rachael @notjustbikes that’s just not how our speed limits were intended to be used. You have to realize we never had computers running the cars when the speed limit system was created. The point was to give police officers some personal judgment on when to ticket based on unsafe driving. In fact when you get a ticket in California they usually cite you for “speed unsafe for conditions” not “speed exceeds posted limit”.

@piggo I am also wondering if the rubber can be cleanly stripped from the handle. maybe abrasion with alcohol, or very light use of acetone(though CAD and 3D printing are a nice fun solution too!)

I’ve reassembled my open source large format laser cutter for fabric cutting after disassembling it for my move! It fits 6 feet of 52” wide fabric - enough to cut an entire dress in one go! This year I will learn more about pattern drafting and design garments from scratch. ☺️💖

I’ve finished building the circular sock machine from Printables. Extremely easy to build! I’m a few needles short so I’m waiting for those to arrive, and I need to go pick up some yarn. Very excited to try this out!!

Here’s one of the four robotic corner assemblies for the farm robot, with a photo of the robot for reference. These are the first prototypes of a new design and I will certainly simplify the wiring!

@piggo yeah so actually we have plenty of power for that. The robot has an 800 watt solar array and super capacitors that allow burst power of several kilowatts. My 40 electrical watts laser cutter at home can cut fabric, and the vehicle drive system only needs about 60 watts to drive on level ground at a walking pace. But yeah the goal is to first build a general purpose vehicle capable of carrying a variety of tools. We will work with a community of users to design tools for different farming contexts. Ultimately we want it to be useful for every step of the farming process. More details here:https://community.twistedfields.com/c/research-blog/
