       @crawshaw He had a lot of computer help, but I'm sure some of his choices were made to improve (or not) the flow.apologies. i should have said it for you. i've known it for so long i forgot what a puzzle it is.

       @robpike it's a surprisingly fun puzzle. I thought it might be a cipher so I got distracted doing a (poor) cryptanalysis.
