       That is…something. Why would you break up with someone in a place where 1) you have no privacy and like 10 other people are forced to listen to your conversation 2) You’re stuck spending hours sitting next to the person you just broke up with.

       @dave  I was on a train once and a woman called her boyfriend to break up with him. Loudly, not even the slightest attempt to speak softly on a train near 30 other people (many of whom were trying to sleep). A lot of people really have a hard time being considerate.As for why he did it during a flight, I imagine two possible scenarios:He’s somewhat abusive/sadistic and wanted the break-up to be uncomfortable for her.The relationship was really shitty and there was a lack of communication about issues. which led to his “breaking point” where he felt that he couldn’t wait any longer.Scenario 2 actually seems somewhat likely. It’s easy to reach a point when you’re kinda on the fence about ending a relationship (not limited to romance), and have a moment of clarity where you realize that you won’t ever be happy in the relationship.  You realize that if you don’t end it immediately, you’ll simply hesitate further and prolong your suffering.It seems like, if that were the case, he could have waited at least until landing.
